It would be impossible to tell all young men’s stories who have lived in the Daniel Center but we can introduce a few of the ones who are living in the Center at this moment.

MARIAN: I am 32 years old and have been living in the Daniel Center since the opening in May 28th 2000. I was Daniel Center’s first beneficiary and I received tremendous help ever since. I gained self-confidence and I’ve learned to trust the people around me, things that were very challenging for me at the beginning. With the help of the program I was also able to get a job. Blythswood offered me a small home within the Center where I can live by myself and enjoy the privacy. I would like to get acquainted with young people from different churches and to participate at a lot of activities. I enjoy traveling and I’m grateful that I had the chance to visit a few countries since I have been in the program.

GHEORGHE:
I’ve been living in the Daniel Center since 2008. I’ve decided to join the program because I had heard that here one can reach his goals and accomplish his dreams. At the time I joined the program, my mail goal was to become a chef, something that I’ve already accomplished. I finished three vocational trainings: baker-confectioner, chef, and basic computer skills which I find very useful. In September 2011, I participated at the International Open Air Cooking Championship organized at Polus Center in Cluj and I was awarded 2nd place. |

GHIŢĂ:
I’m a shy and reserved person and I had to work a lot get to know myself and to accept myself. At the Center I received all the help and encouragement that I needed in order to be more activ and involved. I also learned to take responsabilities for my actions. I still need to learn a lot about this. I’m 22 years old and I have been in the Daniel Center since 2009 and I’m hopful that I will be able to achieve all of my goals in the time that has remained. I’m working at Crownnet, a harware packaging company. Since I have been in the Center, I’ve finished three vocational trainings: retail worker, baker-confectioner, and basic computer skills. One of my goals is to obtain a driver’s license. I deeply appreciate all the work that has been done in the Center. |

DĂNUŢ:
I have been in the Daniel Center since 2009, since I was 19. I was a shy and reserved person but here I have gained self-confidence and I learned to trust the people around me. I enjoy cleanness, something that motivated me to finish a vocational training in this field. I finished my internship at Bed and Breakfast Blythswood and I have also worked in a hostel in Cluj Napoca. Now I am employed at Metro as a cleaning worker. My goal is to make a career as a floral designer and I’m planning on taking special courses. I wish the Blythswood team the drive to be able to offer the same amount of love and support to the other boys who are to become a part of the program. |

SEBASTIAN:
I’m glad I got the chance to be in the Daniel Center because it’s a Christian center, where Christian values are promoted and offers me the possibility to live a moral life. I’m 22 years old and I have been living in the Center since 2009. My first job placement was at a car wash but at the moment I’m working at Crownnet, a local company. I’m looking forward to starting a family. I wish all the boys realize their goals and potentials and say that joining Daniel Center had made great changes in their lives. |

ALIN:
I longed to be accepted in the program because I have heard great things about Daniel Center from former colleges. I am a happy persone who likes to joke a lot, but I’ve also learned the life is not a joke and you have to take it seriously if you want to achieve something. In the Center I’ve learned to cook, to clean the house, to shop, to take part in a Bible course, to dress up elegantly, to find a job and to save money. I like to mime the Center’semployees. At the moment I’m looking for a job and I’m hopeful that I will have one soon with a good pay. As my future plans: I would like to have a girlfriend and to get married. I also want to build a more serious relationship with God. |

VASILE:
Daniel Center was a chance for me. I came to learn new things, to be a better person, to have a better attitude and to learn how to behave in a larger community. After a period of time I just noticed that I’ve became more open and more proactive. With all this, I still have a lot to work on my personal development. I have a workplace that I got through the Center’s professional network. The company, NAI REFRACTARE SI MINERALE SRL it’s a good place to work at and pays very well. I believe in a bright future and I’m looking forward to making a home and starting a family. Yeah, why not? I want to tell to all the boys who are to come to Daniel Center: keep on working until you achieve your goals! With perseverence everything is possible. I tested it! |

I have been in the program for 5 months and I want to be able to finish it. Eventhough it can be very challenging, I know it is for my own interest. I am 19 years old and I just started a vocational training - I want to be a baker. I am a very active person with a lot of energy.
