ShoeBox Project

In October 2010 Blythswood Romania organized his own ShoeBox Project for the first time. Our aim was to continue the tradition initiated and sustained over the years by our partners (Blythswood Care) in the United Kingdom. They sent us about 10 000 packages every year filled with Christmas gifts for distribution to poor people throughout Romania.

Last year we decided to join them and try to take over this project in a few years. In 2010 we collected 832 ShoeBoxes, wich was an encouraging beginning.

In 2011 we will continue this work because we saw the need for this gesture of care. For many people it was the only present they got for Christmas. Our goal in 2011 is to involve more people and to create Shoebox collection points in more cities than last year.

The packaging will be the same: gifts in wrapped shoeboxes. What new will this project bring? You will find out on this site in September 2011. Until then you can find us on Facebook.
