The idea of establishing a residential home arose from the need of young men, who, after leaving the state orphanages at the age of 18 were lacking the skill and abilities necessary for independent living an social integration.
The home was opened in 2001 with the support of Blythswood Care, a charity based in Scotland.
Since than 59 young men have lived in the Daniel Centre, out of which about 65% managed to integrate in society.
Since 2005 the Daniel Centre is a fully accredited social service provider, accredited by the Ministry of Labor, Family and Social Protection.
Blythswood Romania is involved in different commercial activities in order to provide financial support for the Daniel Centre. The motto is: commercial activities in social partnership.
