Protected homes for young people
Aim:
Social and professional integration – formation and education of young men aged 18-24, who don’t have the possibility to succeed in society (because of coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, from government care units or disorganised families). This aim is reached through a structure based on an indivdualized personal development plan with genuine Christian values.
Social Services provided:
- Housing (very good living conditions)
- Support for establishing independent living
- A program based on sound theoretical and practical principles
- - Emotional support / counselling
- - Social counselling / advice
- - Providing information
- - Vocational counselling
- - Integration in community groups
- - Personality development
- - Teaching work skills
The structure of social services: individual counselling, group counselling, meetings, religious activities, cultural activities, free time activities, work, structured daily program etc.
Phases (totalling 2 – 2.5 years):
- 1. Residential: 1.5 - 2 years
- 2. Transit: 6 months - max.1 year
- 3. Aftercare, assistance in independent living – approx. 6 months.
Who are the clients?
- young men 18 - 24 yeas old who:
- - have come from government care units or disorganised families and who don’t have the possibility of succeeding in society
- - do not have families who are able to offer proper education or moral and financial support
- - don’t have other means for social insertion
- - don’t have the skills and abilities for independent living
- - show slow development due to lack of stimulus, emotional instability or problems with self esteem
- - show slight mental deficiencies, cognitive rigidity, memory problems or problems with focusing
- - show the potential for social integration and independent living after finishing the program
