2 Percent

The two percent law - Contributions by individuals

The individual taxpayers may allocate two per cent of their annual income tax to non-profit entities (associations and foundations) established under Ordinance 26/2000. Each employee can decide exactly where his 2 % will be spent.

It is important to know: this contribution is not a donation or sponsorship. It is a part of the state budget that a citizen can allocate to the NGOs like Blythswood Romania.

How do you make this contribution?

Fill out this basic form ”Declaratia 230”, sign it and send it / take it to an ANAF-office (Agenţia Naţională de Administrare Fiscală) in your city.

In addition to the allocation of 2% from annual income tax, a person receiving a commercial income from a free profession or from intellectual property rights qualifies for a sponsorship deduction of up to five per cent of the taxable base. The law has included the ability for independent  contractors to sponsor NGOs – and also benefit from tax deductions. They need to fill out this basic form: "Declaratia 200" (available at: http://declaratia200.ro/), and to send it to the same ANAF-office.

Deadline: 15th May 2011.
